Energy: Biofuel

 Biofuels have been around longer than cars. As a fuel source that is much more efficient than cheap gasoline, we need to move towards making this the primary source in the upcoming years. Global biofuel output needs to triple by 2030 in order to meet the international energy agency’s targets for sustainable growth. Gas emissions from personal transport, public transport, and delivery/shipping accounts for about a 4th of the worlds CO2 emissions. Transportation is too reliant on fossil fuel usage, so converting to a biofuel option would then move us in a direction to rebuild and grow.

    I think this is a good topic that I never knew about. I had no clue that biofuel needs to be implemented into the world more efficiently. I also liked that you added the goal that is needed to meet the international energy agency's targets for sustainable growth.

Energy: Hydropower Pros and Cons

 Hydropower is not often talked about as a primary option for sustainable energy, however, 6.6% of energy produced in the U.S. is through hydropower, compared to solar energy which happens to only be 2.3% and is usually the first thought when someone mentions “clean energy.” The reason for this being the majority hydropower plants only give energy to large-scale, industrial operations.  Hydropower boasts a few positives that make it a viable option, those being that it is reliable, safe, and produces a very low amount of emissions. Other than that, they are fairly expensive to build, and they have a very realistic potential to cause droughts. It ends off with them giving numbers on there work with BI intelligence and how much money they made in 2020 and what they are projected to make in 2050.
