           Just this year 50 million tons of hazardous waste has been thrown away globally. I found an article about the waste in the world and how it is affecting the land and air. I found how that in some places land slide of garbage cover peoples homes and even the people living there. When we do not recycling the waste that we are throwing out ends up in big landfills. This stuff could end up getting into our water systems, clogging drains causing flooding in our streets, put more pollution into the air from burning it, and many other things. The waste that we leave lying around is a huge part in greenhouse gasses which is a big part in climate change. This is something that needs to be stopped, we need to recycle more and clean up all of the waste that we have put into our environment.

Energy: Hydropower Pros and Cons

 Hydropower is not often talked about as a primary option for sustainable energy, however, 6.6% of energy produced in the U.S. is through hydropower, compared to solar energy which happens to only be 2.3% and is usually the first thought when someone mentions “clean energy.” The reason for this being the majority hydropower plants only give energy to large-scale, industrial operations.  Hydropower boasts a few positives that make it a viable option, those being that it is reliable, safe, and produces a very low amount of emissions. Other than that, they are fairly expensive to build, and they have a very realistic potential to cause droughts. It ends off with them giving numbers on there work with BI intelligence and how much money they made in 2020 and what they are projected to make in 2050.
