 Strangest renewable energy sources


There are so many different renewable energy sources, but today I am going to talk about the one that caught my eye the most. The first one that really caught my eye was the “ Jellyfish Power. Since jellyfish can shock you, they have the ability to be a great renewable energy source, and to think a very non thought of fish could do something like that, certain jellyfish can be used to generate solar power. It's crazy to think that a jellyfish could charge your phone.


These cells are called green fluorescent protein (GFP) and they have the ability to generate solar power

    This is such a good topic and very interesting. That’s so cool that jellyfish could be used as a renewable energy source. I have never heard anything about this before your blog so it definitely taught me something new. I also like that you explained how the jellyfish can be used for solar power and the type of cells it has.

    This is a very interesting response that I found to be very enlightening along the lines of renewable energy. All of these alternatives are a inspiring prospect for humanities future. Who would've thought jellyfish would be able to help make energy?

Energy: Hydropower Pros and Cons

 Hydropower is not often talked about as a primary option for sustainable energy, however, 6.6% of energy produced in the U.S. is through hydropower, compared to solar energy which happens to only be 2.3% and is usually the first thought when someone mentions “clean energy.” The reason for this being the majority hydropower plants only give energy to large-scale, industrial operations.  Hydropower boasts a few positives that make it a viable option, those being that it is reliable, safe, and produces a very low amount of emissions. Other than that, they are fairly expensive to build, and they have a very realistic potential to cause droughts. They called it a shrinking world because our technology is getting even better and better. Anyways going into the article there is a graph and a description of the burgeoning population of the globe. After it talk about this problem it gets into how this can help our food problem and how we are on our way to a new type of farming. It ends off with them giving numbers on there work with BI intelligence and how much money they made in 2020 and what they are projected to make in 2050.
