Conservation

I want to talk to you about endangered species around the world. There is a group of that have a website called Saving Species. They help with many animals including reptiles, spiders, and all kinds of animals in the ocean.

Some of the endangered species in the ocean are mollusks which are creatures that have only a shell. The problem with their species is that there isn't any healthy numbers going on in their ecosystem. They rely on the Coral Reefs, but humans are polluting and over-fishing the reefs. Without the reefs, many species that live there will die.

Many plants and animals are endangered in Madagascar. The reason for this is the forests. The forests are getting destroyed because of farmland. If it is not stopped, then all the species living there will disappear. Biodiversity is the most important thing that can help with that balance of forest and the people living there.

Spiders are another endangered species that needs help in Australia. Only the rare spiders happen to be in Australia, but many of them are endangered today. We need to save them or else there will be an increase in insects which is a problem. We may not like spiders, but the insect's predator is in fact the spider. That's why it is big deal to save the spiders.

  1. I love that you picked a colorful article to base your blog off of and I love that it showed pictures of the animals that are endangered. And I agree with you on having animals anywhere on the planet is good for ecosystems like in your example with spiders. There would be an increase in annoying bugs and insects if the creepy spiders became extinct. Animals are just as helpful to our success as high tech machinery and technology.

  2. The farmland situation is going to happen everywhere. If you think about it, the farming here just keeps growing and they keep pushing down more and more woods down which then takes away places for the animals to live and also hide.
