Helping our land

 I know I tend to talk more about the negatives we have done on our land and how to fix it, but this week I wanna talk more about how we have already started to help our land. It is a process that does need to be taken slow, if you do it right it will bring more clean water, more food, and even more income to some people. First thing we need to start doing is understanding the land itself, second thing we need to do is set goals, and the last thing we need to do is make something that tracks the progress.     I think it is good that you talk about the positives of helping the environment because a lot of people tend to talk more about the negatives than positives. It is good to know there are things we can do to help our land. This article was very helpful!

Energy: Hydropower Pros and Cons

 Hydropower is not often talked about as a primary option for sustainable energy, however, 6.6% of energy produced in the U.S. is through hydropower, compared to solar energy which happens to only be 2.3% and is usually the first thought when someone mentions “clean energy.” The reason for this being the majority hydropower plants only give energy to large-scale, industrial operations.  Hydropower boasts a few positives that make it a viable option, those being that it is reliable, safe, and produces a very low amount of emissions. Other than that, they are fairly expensive to build, and they have a very realistic potential to cause droughts.
