What’s Wrong With the Hudson River

 The Hudson River that is located in New York has multiple issues. The main one is that it is extremely nasty. There is a viral video that had went around of a young woman that had jumped into the Hudson River. When she jumps in there is a cloud of dirty water that appears. The River is significantly polluted. This is an issue because the environment in and around the River is affected.

    I think that water pollution should be talked about more and done something about it. The pollution in the water isn’t only damaging to us but the animals in the water as well. The pollution is harming them and we need to try and save them as well. I think that it is neat that you used someone’s experience to show how the Hudson River is so polluted and not just base it off statistics.

    I remember that Tik Tok video going viral, which I thought was really dumb because she seriously could of gotten sick from this just to get ‘famous’. I really wish the Hudson River topic should be discussed about more because not only is it dangerous to us humans, but also life in the water.

Energy: Hydropower Pros and Cons

 Hydropower is not often talked about as a primary option for sustainable energy, however, 6.6% of energy produced in the U.S. is through hydropower, compared to solar energy which happens to only be 2.3% and is usually the first thought when someone mentions “clean energy.” The reason for this being the majority hydropower plants only give energy to large-scale, industrial operations.  Hydropower boasts a few positives that make it a viable option, those being that it is reliable, safe, and produces a very low amount of emissions. Other than that, they are fairly expensive to build, and they have a very realistic potential to cause droughts.
