If you are like me you probably have not heard about the ways mining effects the land. Mining can pollute many different things, such as water, air, and soil. When mining they used heavy metals and even acid. These products can get into the soil, air, and water. Mining pollution has even got into drinking water wells in many rural western towns. This could be very harmful to the people drinking it. In recent years mining industries have reported 2.8 billion pounds of toxics emitted to air, water and land. This is a very bad think for our land and they need to find a better way of mining without putting all this pollution into our land, air, and water.

  1. Brea I also was not aware that mining was a major cause of affecting our air and water. I would love to hear more, what can we do to prevent this?
