Yellowstone Geyser (Riley Burns)

A geyser has reappeared in Yellowstone. The gushing water is actually a mystery of why it happened. What we do know is that as of right now it is the tallest water geyser recorder in the world. It is also questioned if the geyser was do to a steamboat in the water that had a large malfunction prior to the water explosion.

    I loved how you threw some facts in the summary but also told us within the first sentence what the main point of the article was. Thank you for also including another topic from the article, talking about the cause for the water explosion.

    Reading the article, I didn’t know how really dangerous the Yellowstone geyser was until now. This article was very interesting and expanded my knowledge on the Yellowstone geyser.

    I loved how your summery pulled in the reader right away, I had no idea how bad Yellowstone was getting. The article was a really good one to explain the new coming problems with Yellowstone and how its progressively getting worse.

Energy: Hydropower Pros and Cons

 Hydropower is not often talked about as a primary option for sustainable energy, however, 6.6% of energy produced in the U.S. is through hydropower, compared to solar energy which happens to only be 2.3% and is usually the first thought when someone mentions “clean energy.” The reason for this being the majority hydropower plants only give energy to large-scale, industrial operations.  Hydropower boasts a few positives that make it a viable option, those being that it is reliable, safe, and produces a very low amount of emissions. Other than that, they are fairly expensive to build, and they have a very realistic potential to cause droughts.
