Extinction
Scientists do not know exactly how many species of plants, animals and other living beings exist, they know that there are billions of species but that due to extinction this number will soon decline. We know that some species are almost reaching or have reached zero of their total population because of us humans. Extinction can occur due to environmental factors or evolutionary problems, extinction up to a certain point is natural but we humans are major contributors due to hunting, pollution, destroying their habitats in rural areas for the construction of an urban area. The world has already gone through 5 mass extinctions and it could be now, scientists say we could be going through 6 and it could be the fastest they could end up with up to 5 species a year.
Humans are largely responsible for the marked trend. "The slow rise in surface temperatures caused by high levels of greenhouse gases will likely cause many species to move towards the Earth's poles and higher in the mountains to stay in habitats with the same climates. But not all species will be able to adapt quickly enough to avoid extinction, and many are expected to die."

I liked your blog and I understand we are the problem behind most of the extinctions. We have to understand that if we don't speak up, we might lose our animals and their habitats and along with that, our forests. When we have kids, we won't be able to show them what our forests look like and the animals that are living there because of us destroying their habitat.
ReplyDeleteI like your topic because it is very similar to mine and I think you made some good points that I did not mention in my blog. I definitely agree that humans are the main contributors to animals going extinct which is sad because we are taking away their natural habitat for our own needs which I think is very selfish.
